Kenzie’s Corrective Cut

Hello lovelies

One of our favorite things is sharing our work. We take pride in on-going education and then displaying our creations for everyone to see. The next before-and-after is jut another representation of what we love to do at Studio 417 Salon. And when Behind the Chair features our very own Kenzie Powderly, we just love that even more!

Kenzie helped this client go from broken and brassy to beautifully blonde with the formulas and steps mentioned in the article. On top of a stunning color and corrective cut, she wants clients to understand how damaging at-home bleach is. At-home bleach is much more powerful than you think. It can cause several different reactions to your hair and scalp, such as peeling, bleeding, burning. It can also leave that orange-brassy tone that no one likes! Always consult with a professional when coloring or bleaching your hair.

A great product to help with damaged, over-lightened hair is Kerastase Serum Therapiste and also Eufora Leave-In Keratin Treatment (both products can be purchased at Studio 417 Salon). Apply theses products to wet hair and then blow dry or air dry hair. These products contain proteins to help reconstruct the hair and also have thermal protectant to prevent further damage. Kenzie also recommends getting trims every 4 weeks along with a deep conditioning treatment.

Kenzie knew she wanted to be a hair stylist since she was 14 years old. She moved from Joplin, Missouri to Springfield, Missouri to begin her education at The Paul Mitchell School of Cosmetology in September of 2013. In, March of 2014, she worked mainly at 417 Blow Dry Bar styling bridal and special occasion hair, something she loves and has a passion for. Since then, she’s learned so much from her coworkers and outside educators. She is certified in Great Lengths extensions and has participated in the Confessions of a Hairstylist styling class and many other in-salon, Wella Color classes.

Kenzie has been married for a little over a year now. She met her husband in hair school when he came in for a haircut. “We quickly became best friends. I never thought I’d marry a client, but I am so thankful for him!” They just recently bought their first home and adopted a puppy named Violet.

Here is some of Kenzie’s other work. You can connect with her through her Insta @studio417kenzie.
