Following up on our 90s hairstyles post, we want to make it official, Springfield! The scrunchie is back! The staple of 90s updos has been slowly peaking out from behind the corner for quite a while, but it’s busted out in fashion circles for good now!
Plus, the best news! We’ll have some scrunchiez for sale later this week!
The Bun Accessory
Go from drab to fab on your need-to-wash-hungover-lazy-crazy-hair days. Toss around a messy bun for some added flare or around a high ballerina bun to give some extra innocence.
PRO TIP: add some fake flowers/rhinestones with hot glue to your scrunchie to really catch the eye
THE HALF PONY MOLLY RINGWALD WANNABE
Fine hair too limp for a high pony? problem solved. throw half of it up into a scrunchie with some wave and the bulk of the scrunchie will give it added volume & that 80’s dream-babe look
GOOD HAIR DAY? WEAR IT AS JEWELRY
thats right folks, you can wear your scrunchie as a bracelet. not only will you make a funky fashion statement, but you will also have it on hand (or wrist of you want to get techincal) for any last minute pony tail needs: dancing so hard you start sweating? need to chase down a hottie on the street? gotta bob for apples to impress your crush at a party? no need to worry- your bracelet just so happens to actually be a hair tie.
JUST FOR THE HEALTH OF IT
Lets be honest- the rubber bands just aren’t that great for your hair. So if you really want an excuse to wear a scrunchie, its becasue its much softer on your hair and will not break it off like normal pony tails will. It’s large fabric coating puts an extra layer between your hair and the elastic and usually has a lot more stretch with a lot less pulling than your average pony tail holder. As if you needed any more reason to throw a scrunchie in on your next hair-do.
